Easter Dress

It has taken me awhile to finally do this post, but here are a few pictures of Tori in her Easter dress on Easter Sunday. We went shopping for it together and she picked it out herself (after we bought 5 dresses, brought them home and had a fashion show for Dad). I think I'm creating a monster - she loves to shop for clothes for herself and wanted to take home every dress in the store. The problem is I think she looks cute in all of them and want to bring them all home. We were good, though and took the other dresses back after Tori decided on this one.

She was almost as excited for Easter morning as she was for Christmas. She came running into our room in the morning saying, "It's Easter, It's Easter." Since we had to get ready in time to make it to church at 10am, I set her up at the computer doing computer games while I took a shower - which she could usually do all day long. Sometime during my shower she disappeared downstairs and the next thing I know she's running back upstairs saying, "Look mommy the Easter Bunny brought me more watercolors!!!" So much for waiting for mom and dad to come down and find the baskets the Easter bunny had hidden.

Easter egg hunt and decorating eggs

Tori had a ton of fun with Easter this year. She really understood what was going on and loved everything about it. She loved helping me frost sugar cookies and buying the food for the fancy dinner. One of the members of our ward has a big meadow as part of his property and invited everyone over for an Easter Egg Hunt. The weather actually turned out to be pretty nice and we all had a great time (as you can see -especially Tori).

I have to say her favorite part was, of course, finding all the candy inside her eggs.

Tori also loved decorating eggs this year (I think she could have done it all day long if we'd had more eggs).

Questions about Dad

I read these questions on a friend's blog and thought they were really cute, so I decided to ask Tori the same questions and give the answers to John for his birthday from her.

Funny talk

Tori just loves to talk and talk and talk, and says some of the funniest things. I'm always kicking myself since I forget to write them down and can't remember them later - so here are a couple of the cute things she has said lately.

John has been doing his research rotation and so we get to see a lot more of him. Tori lately loves to climb in bed between us in the mornings. The other morning she cuddled in with us and John said, "We're making a Tori sandwich. Mom and Dad are the bread and Tori is the jelly inside." Well the next morning John was already in the bathroom when Tori came in and she hopped in by me and said, "Mom we're missing a piece of bread."

Also, another morning we were all having breakfast together and John was telling Tori that he had to go to work at the lab to do research that day:
John - "Tori can you say laboratory?"
Tori - "Labora"
John - "Say laboratory."
Tori - "Labora"
John - "No, say laboratory."
Tori - "Labora"
(Tori can say anything you ask her to. So finally I realized that she thought he was saying her name. She thought he was saying, "Say labora, Tori.")
We all just laughed and laughed.

Soccer Practice

We signed Tori up to play soccer this spring and she is really excited, especially since she should be on the same team as a couple of her friends. However, the other day we realized that Tori had no idea how to play soccer (I said to Tori, "Let's play soccer" and she ran and got her soccer ball and wanted to play catch with it.).

So, here are a couple videos of John playing soccer with her. She caught on really quick and had a blast playing. The videos don't show this as much, since I didn't think to break out the camera until they had been playing for half an hour and Tori already wanted to go back inside.
