Tori had been begging us to camping for awhile so when we finally had a free Friday evening-Sat morning we just picked up and went. We went to a camping area just about 20 minutes from home, but I think it has a really pretty atmosphere and is very wooded and hilly for the mid-west.

Tori loved bringing her own Dora tent (she was a little bummed that we wouldn't let her sleep alone in it) and she loved the campfire and roasting marshmallows - she is quite the champ at roasting them now. James loved being outside, but kept getting frustrated that we wouldn't let him do all the dangerous things he desperately wants to do. Unfortunately, since it was the end of July it was very hot and none of us slept very well. The heat index was so high on Saturday morning that we had cooked breakfast and packed up the tent and were out of there by 9am. We made up for leaving so early in the morning, though by going to the rec center pool by our house to cool down when we got home.
